How to Remove Sweat Stains From Your Whites

You have almost definitely been there: You put on your fresh new white t-shirt in the morning, ready to jump out the door, but wait – it does not look as fresh as you thought. Armpit sweat stains on white shirts are very common, but also very inconvenient. At Laundry Zone, we have the tips and tricks you need to remove the sweat stains from your white shirts, so you can wear them over and over again!

  • Meat tenderizersweat stains
Before you wash that stained white shirt, try to dampen the armpit stain and sprinkle a little meat tenderizer on it. Afterwards, just wash it as you normally would.
  • Aspirin
Before giving up hope, try crushing two aspirins and mix the powder in ½ cup warm water. Then soak the stained part of the shirt in the mix for around two to three hours, and voilà, you should be good to go.
  • Dish soap
Another thing you might have around the house is dish soap. Mix one part dish soap with two parts of hydrogen peroxide and then let it sit for an hour. Afterwards, just wash it normally.
  • Salt
Salt is a trick that works with many types of stains. To remove that sweat stain, dissolve four tablespoons of salt in one quart (a liter) hot water. After that, sponge the shirt with the solution until the stain is gone.
  • Lemons
When life hands you lemons right. Use lemons to get those stains away by scrubbing the area with a mix of equal pats water and lemon juice. Wash hereafter, and watch the stain disappear.
  • Vinegar
Pour a small amount of vinegar directly onto the stained area and rub it in before wash.
  • Baking soda
Want to make those sweat stains vanish? Pre-treat your shirt with a paste made from ¼ cup of warm water and four tablespoons of baking soda. Rub the paste on the concerned area, let it sit for a while and then wash it up.
  • Ammonia
Remove that sweaty stain by dabbing it with a half-strength solution of ammonia and water before the wash.
  • Cold water
Before washing, try rubbing the stained armpit area with cold water. The use of hot water can result in the stain setting, so always turn to cold water in this situation.

Try applying some of these tricks to your routine, and then drop by Laundry Zone with your prepared shirt, and let us wash the stain away. If you have any questions or need help keeping your clothing clean and stain-free, be sure to seek help from the experts at Laundry Zone! Stop by today, or contact us by calling 215-240-1858 or visit us online.
